A Letter from Fr. Paul - May 27, 2018

5/27/2018

PACT: Pius Parishioners Always Come Through!!! Our Living Waters Lenten Campaign ended up at $32,633, enough to build 6 new wells in rural Tanzania. I thank all who contributed to this campaign.

Spring has sprung and our property is looking beautiful, thanks to the cleanup and landscaping by the “Garden Angels.” On behalf of our community, I thank these volunteers who do such good work to make the outside of our plant beautiful. I hope in the near future we can set up a similar group of volunteers who can make the inside of our plant look just as beautiful!

Congratulations to the 9 eighth graders who will graduate from Wauwatosa Catholic this Friday evening. The following are parishioners at Pius: Andrew Kirchner, Noah Poston, and Joseph Warren.

This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. From one perspective, it is the celebration of LOVE: the Father loved the Son and that LOVE is the Holy Spirit, a LOVE which explodes outward! The LOVER, the BELOVED, and LOVE!!!!!

What is amazing is that the LOVE of this Trinity is for all people! As humans, we tend to limit love to those with whom we have some kind of relationship or those we deem to be “worthy” of love or acceptance.

This feast calls us to grow in our ability to extend our love and compassion to all. Jesus grew from “I am sent to the lost sheep of Israel” to “Go out to all nations…” Paul grew from someone persecuting others in order to protect the integrity of his small group and its beliefs to being the “Apostle to the Nations.” God does not dismiss anyone as unimportant: neither can we.

Jesus and Paul grew: so can we! And let us support each other in our efforts with prayer.

-- Paul James Portland, SDS
