Fr. Paul's letter:
Dear St. Pius X Parishioners,
Earlier this year, we had both the Catholic Stewardship Appeal and the Love One Another Campaign. Now we have our Parish Pledge Drive for 2024. I would like to make sure we all understand what each of these appeals addresses. Think of a family: a family has ongoing, everyday expenses that have to be met (food, car and mortgage payments, utilities, insurance, etc.). A family also has to be prepared for unexpected expenses (boiler needing to be replaced, medical bills not covered by insurance, etc.). The three fund drives address these same needs for the diocese and parish:
Love one Another: extraordinary expenses for both the parish (60%) and the diocese (40%).
Catholic Stewardship Appeal: the annual collection for the ongoing, everyday operating expenses of the diocese.
Parish Pledge Drive: the annual appeal for the ongoing, everyday expenses that keep St. Pius X going (salaries, utilities, internet, ordinary plant maintenance and cleaning, etc.)
The Parish Pledge Drive is what we are doing now. Your pledge for how you will support our community in the coming year gives us information that helps us compile a realistic budget. Your support keeps our community going as we spread the faith and bring the word of God to others in our parish, community and the world.
As you can see in the report, your gifts do so much good for our community and the world. We hope we can count on you again, as we start this year’s stewardship campaign. Please prayerfully consider increasing your pledge amount, but know that we are grateful for any gift you are able to provide.
