Are you planning to visit St. Pius X Catholic Church in Wauwatosa?
Here’s what you’ll encounter in our church facility and in our celebration of the Mass:
Entrance The entrance to St. Pius X Church is from the parking lot, which is accessed at 75th and Wright Streets. There are three doors, all under the arches located on the Wright Street side of the lot.
Handicap Access Handicapped parking is available to the left of the entrance doors and the left door is handicapped accessible.
Hearing Loops Our church is equipped with a hearing loop. If you have a hearing device with a t-coil, turn it on to take advantage of this technology. We also have two headsets available in the back of church to aid those who do not have hearing devices. If you would like to use one simply ask one of the ministers of hospitality (ushers) for assistance.
Restroom A restroom is located to the left of the vestibule as you enter the church.
Length of Service Our services normally last an hour at the most.
Children Babies and children of all ages are an integral part of our community and everyone knows they will not sit perfectly still. If a child is crying or making excessive noise, it is suggested to take them into the vestibule for a few moments until they feel better. You may also go into the chapel, which is through the doors in the front left of the church.
Music A board with the hymn numbers is located on the pillars on either side of the sanctuary. There is usually an order of worship with each Gather Hymnal. Please join us in singing; God gave you the voice you have so it is good to give it back to Him!
Hand-shaking After praying the Our Father, we exchange a sign of peace, usually a handshake. Many parishioners also hold hands during the Our Father. If you are not comfortable with these gestures or have a bad cold, feel free to simply offer a nod and a wave.
Communion If you are not going to receive Communion, but would like a blessing, come forward with your arms crossed on your chest.
Baptisms & Special Blessings Occasionally we’ll have a baptism within the Mass or a special blessing at the end of Mass (for example, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Catechetical Sunday).
Have Questions? Want to Join? If you have a question about our parish or would like information on registering as a parishioner, volunteers at the Welcome Table in the rear of church can assist you after Mass or visit our "I'm New" page. Our ministers of hospitality are also willing to help in any way.
