Dear all at St. Pius parish community,
Many warm greetings from SWLD and the people in Tanzania!
I am writing to express our thanks and gratitude at SWLD for your continuous support to our people through the gifts of living waters. I am also writing to acknowledge that we have received the living water funds you have donated to SWLD for the year 2016. The funds will be used to construct five new wells and rehabilitation works.
Currently, there are so many villages in Tanzania that have no access to clean water. Due to the lack of clean water so many people, particularly in rural areas of Tanzania, suffer from water borne diseases such as typhoid and cholera. Lack of clean water has also undermined the quality of life among the people and perpetuated poverty in the communities.
Your donations are very instrumental towards improving people's livelihoods in so many ways. Through the living water gifts, thousands of poor have gotten access to clean water; there us a decline of water borne diseases among the people; and improved well being among the beneficiary communities. It is also envisioned that the current donation will help to improve the supply of clean water by providing new wells in more than five villages, which in turn will improve people’s healthy and economic productivity.
So far, we have completed the production of materials. We are now continuing the work of conducting site inspections and hydrological surveys to determine the locations where the new wells will be constructed. In this email I have attached the pictures of materials produced for the new wells. After few days of curing the materials will be conveyed to the sites.
I will write again to inform you about selected sites (names of villages), sites description and other updates on the progress of the projects.
Thanks a lot.
