Coronavirus & Parish Updates

New Covid-19 Safety Protocols for Masses Starting Saturday, May 29th

5/26/2021

Dear Community Members,

I want to start by thanking you for your cooperation over the past 15 months. It is a sign of our concern for each other that we have taken the precautions to protect one another.

How to move forward was not easy to decide. As the show of hands in Masses last weekend showed, we have different comfort levels about how far to go in opening up. Also, some of us are more vulnerable than others. I thank the staff and parish Leadership Team who helped me navigate this difficult decision. We have tried to find a middle ground, allowing some of the openings approved by the CDC, Wauwatosa, and the diocese, while respecting the legitimate hesitancy of some community members.

The protocols starting this weekend are not etched in stone. Each week the Leadership Team will review them, based on feedback and what is happening in our world. I thank you in advance for your continued cooperation in our efforts, through Christian charity, to make all feel safe and welcome in our worship space.

God bless,
Fr. Paul

The new protocols:
  • Fully vaccinated people are free to choose whether or not to wear a mask.
  • Out of Christian respect for others, those who have not been vaccinated need to continue to wear a mask.
  • Please use hand sanitizer as you enter the church.
  • You may seat yourself.
    • Right side* of church: social distancing and mask required.
    • Left side* of church: no social distancing and masks optional.
      • *When entering through the main church doors.
  • There will be no collection taken up. There is a collection basket at the end of each aisle.
  • Communion will be given in the hand only. Communion ministers will continue to be masked while distributing.
  • You may exit the church as you wish. Hospitality ministers will no longer direct you. Please dispose of your order of worship in the baskets provided.
  • Pews will continue to be sanitized between Masses.
