Coronavirus & Parish Updates

An Update from Fr. Paul - Friday, June 19th

6/19/2020

The Pastoral Council had a ZOOM meeting on Wednesday evening to discern new members and leadership for the coming year.

The terms of office for Jack Cluka, Jane Koss, and Larry Weingarten have expired.  On behalf of our entire community, I thank them for their dedicated service.  Jack had been a liaison to Health Ministry and Parish Collaborative. Jane had been Vice Chairperson, a representative of Pius to the diocesan deanery meeting, and a liaison to the Justice and Peace Commission. Larry was a liaison to Health Ministry.

Beginning a three-year term are Jeff Ramsey, Nathan Kolbe, and Nick DeLeo.  I thank them for their willingness to serve in this leadership capacity.

Chris Graham accepted another term as Chairperson.  Jeff Ramsey is the Vice Chairperson and Emily Wisniewski continues as Secretary.  I thank them for their willingness to serve.

Today is the feast of the Sacred Heart.  It is also Juneteenth, a remembrance of emancipation after the Civil War. The heart is a symbol of love and acceptance; the Sacred Heart of Jesus loves and accepts every person.  Let our prayer be that these two observances may lead to an end of all discrimination (true emancipation) and a society built on love and peace.

If you wish to attend Mass this weekend and forgot to register, you can do so today until the office closes at noon.  We have lots of room.  We will continue to put the Sunday Mass on our website and Facebook, until all restrictions are lifted.

God bless.
